At Barcelos we take great pride in the quality of our Portuguese cuisine. We serve only Certified Angus Beef and we have recognition from the Canadian Angus Association. We are very proud of this accomplishment. Our fish and seafood is of the highest quality and Oceanwise approved. Our approach to food and atmosphere is simple. We want to serve you only the highest quality meals that you just couldn't make at home. But, while you are here, in our restaurant, we want you to feel that you are at home.....and, wow, does your mother really know how to cook!
We blow people away with our Portuguese Sausage on fire. Really! It is served at your table flaming with aguardente in a traditional clay cradle. And, we tell people to 'Smell what the Rock is Cooking' each night. In Portugal, there is a tradition of serving food on a shale of thin lava rock. This rock keeps the food warm and then is thrown away. In Canada, we do not have an over abundance of lava rock - but, we do have granite! So we adapted the traditional serving method to hot granite rocks. These rock platters are heated to 500 degrees. Your steak of choice is then partially grilled to your specifications then served on a 'hot rock' where it continues to cook and stays warm for your entire meal. What a concept!
Who knew people would love this? We started out with one steak on a 'hot rock' and now serve all of our steaks this way along with our salmon and Ahi tuna. Our Italian clients who lobbied for a Pasta dish now want their Barcelos Seafood Pasta served on a 'hot rock' but this is just not possible. We do have five different fusion pasta dishes every Wednesday paired with our amazing Italian wine selection - Viva!
Which brings us to our wine cellar. We have made an investment in our wine selection. We have wines from nine different countries that meet our standards. While we also carry the more common wines available from the LCBO, Barcelos also has its own wine importer so we can offer exclusive wines to accompany your most elegant and delectable feast. Follow up your meal with an amazing dessert and a glass of authentic Portuguese Port Wine.

Barcelos is open 7 days a week from 4:00 PM to 3:00 AM and for Lunch Tuesday to Saturday from 12 noon to 3:00 PM. We are available for Private Functions on Sunday and Monday from 12:00 noon to 3:00 PM.
